    Exclamation Lost Work Order

I entered a work order yesterday afternoon and printed my work order sheet, but this morning when I went back to make some changes to the work order, it disappeared somewhere in cyberland! I know for sure I saved the work order (#12345 -- the easiest work order # to remember and it went missing! ) and not cancel it.

What happened to the aforementioned work order #?

This often happens if one of the following occurs:

    A) If you did not click "Done" button and You exited out of BizWizard using CTRL+ALT+DEL before it was saved

    B) If another user opened the order and canceled the order.

    C) If one of your computers in your networks computer clock is off by more than 48 hours.

    D) If the order is a quote and the timeframe has been exceeded as specified in system configuration for the Delete Quotes Older than Days value.

All of the above situations are expected behaviour. If you notice it occurring in another situation, please try to give us step by step information on what you did, exactly as you did it so we can try to reproduce the behaviour

NOTE: In the case of C) above, orders can potentially be deleted WHILE they are being entered if the computers clocks are off by more than 48 hours. It is a good idea to either turn on Internet Time Server Checking (for Windows XP) or to lock down changing the date/time on Windows Vista and Windows 7 to prevent users from adjusting the clocks on their computers.

BizWizard date/time stamps all transactions, so users going in and adjusting their clocks can cause serious issues such as loss of orders while someone is entering it on another computer, or loss of quotes if the time period has exceeded the system settings.

Always ensure all computers have the accurate date and time set for them. Even Financial reports can be off if you adjust the date/time of just one computer to falsify the date/time on that computer.

NOTE: as of Verison 3.5.5 Release Date 6/26/2009 Canceled orders that have been saved at least once (i.e. done button pushed) are no longer deleted, rather the order status is changed to cancelled, but remains in BizWizard as a Canceled order.
