Default Locking the orders to prevent more than one person at a time on an order

For some reason, we're running into a problem with our people locking themselves out of an order. Because we many times type faster than the system can handle, we will get caught with an incorrect screen showing...hiding the correct screen. Sometimes, if we selkect another program to pop up and then selected BizWiz again, the order of screens will correct itself and we can continue with the order. Other times, this doesn't correct the problem and BizWiz is frozen. Our only option then is to "Control/Alt/Delete" to shut the program down so we can restart it.

Before this update, that would solve the problem and we could call the order back up and life was good. Now, if the program is shut down, the person that shut the computer down is locked out of the order.

We never had huge problems with more than one person at a time accessing an order, but since this update, we're running into the "locked out" issue. Can we either 1) disable the "lock out" function or 2) have another way of accessing the order?

    Thanks-

A couple of things: If a screen is being hidden behind another screen that has the focus, please report this to NetSoft Studio so it can be prevented. To resolve this, ALT+TAB to another window, then ALT+TAB back to Order Manager. This should restore the correct focus order.

On Order Locking, be sure you are running 11/17/2011 (the latest release date) version of BizWizard release as there was a change to the order locking that was done on 11/11/2011 and is incorporated in the 11/17/2011 release). Previous to 11/11/2011 release, the order locking locked any associated customer & all those customers orders if it was direct billed. This was removed on 11/11/2011 version so only the order that was locked is locked while being used.

Using CTRL+ALT+DEL can cause your database to become corrupted and should not be used as a daily remedy. There is a reason that only screen lock the focus and CTRL+ALT+DEL as a quick way to get out of a screen should only be used as a last resort (and technically shouldn't happen very often, if at all)

To unlock orders and customers currently locked, you can use (again as a last resort) the Delete all record locks option under the BizWizard Order Manage menu. Record locking is extremely important to prevent more than one user from accessing the same data and causing data inconsistencies. Providing an option to turn off record locking is not a good idea as it is how you end up with orders with incorrect balance due, or negative balance orders, or orders with shipping charges incorrect, etc.

I like the locked out feature! I tend to run it on the laser computer and then get back to my desk and call up the order and I get the locked out message. I go and close it, then open on my machine and life is good. Before this I was forgetting and then I was actually losing the order.

HOWEVER I updated all the computers and we have the 11-11 update running. Do I have to do it all over again?
