Product Search issue

I recently discovered I have a part in my product database that does not show up via the Product Search function on the front end of the website. It is part P81255-Z (PDU Eagle in Flight Award).

I can log into the Administration page and it will show up there when I search on the Product screen from the back end, but it will not show up when I put that part number into the Product Search on the front end that customers can use. The search for that part number returns no results.

I haven't noticed this with other parts, but am concerned this part is not the only one. Can someone look into this for me?

The product search only searches the Categories check marked on the search page. The P81255-Z Eagle Award is not categorized into any of categories that can be check marked and thus won't appear in the search. P81255-Z does not fit into any of the Product Type Categories and by default was not categorized into any product type categories. Rather, this particular product is categorized into the Theme Categories, but Theme Categories do not get searched via the search feature.

This was done by design and is under review to remove this restriction of searching only product type categories.
