is there a way to have customers cell phone number and email address appear on the order acknowledgment? We input this info to the order itself but it does not appear on the print out

Doesn't the customer know their cell phone number and e-mail address? The reason I say this is the order acknowledgement is something you print and hand to the customer. Its internal value is non-existent. Internally you should be working off of work orders, not order acknowledgements. Can you please expound as to why this information on an order acknowledgement would benefit and what it would benefit. Thanks.

I like it because it gives the customer the opportunity to confirm that we have their correct contact info. Sometimes we have keystroking errors in the those fields and it can hamper communication. Somewhat unrelated - does anybody else have the experience of Order Manager missing keystrokes more so than other programs?

Keystroking is a function of the operating system communicating with the keyboard. If your having keystroke errors, you can usually resolve them by buying a new keyboard. Order Manager does not do any communications with the keyboard or the mouse. All those communications are handled by the operating system (i.e. windows) and the keyboard.

OK, but regardless of how the errors happen, we are humans and mistakes, and the faster they get fixed the better. Confirming with the customer via the order acknowledgment would be an easy way of correcting them.

You are correct, and that is the purpose of the Order Acknowledgement. It is designed to provide the customer with a copy of the order and the pertinent information on the order. This gives them the opportunity to review the order, even if later while back at their office and if they notice any errors they can contact you to correct them. Good job in using the Order Acknowledgement.

so how about the rest of the contact info (email & cell phone) :) :) :)

so how about the rest of the contact info (email & cell phone) :) :) :) One could make the same argument about may items you collect on an order. For instance. The following items are not listed on the order acknowledgement:

Marketing Code
Engraving Attachments (When customers provide you with engraving not listed on the order)
The Logo Artwork to be used on the order
Order Comments which could be important for he customer to review

An Order acknowledgement is an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of paper and has as much of the pertinent information as necessary printed. Whereas I can see how you feel Cell phone number is important, do we remove the primary phone number so cell phone number can print?

E-Mail address can take up alot of room. Whereas it can be important, is it more important than the customers ship-to address?

As it is the Order Acknowledgement uses only a 1/2" margin on top, bottom, left and right which causes some problems with some inkjet printers that cannot print when the margins are less than 3/4" thus there simply isn't any room to add more without taking away. When I go to a store and my receipt doesn't say:

XL Pacific Brand Blue with White Stripe Polo Shirt with Tails

My Receipt may say:

XL Plo Shrt w/Tails

Because there is limited room on the receipt to print. I don't like the fact that I cannot match up easier the receipt printout with what is in my bag of goods I bought, but that is life.

We have tried to put AS MUCH detail as possible on an order, even expanded the margins to fit more. But there simply isn't room to add a cell phone number, or an e-mail address. It's important information but LESS important than the information already on the order acknowledgement.
