I had an interesting conversation with a vendor recently and he brought up a great point. I'll use some of the registered suppliers as my examples. JDS is my top supplier, so naturally I have them ranked No. 1. But RB Fab is my top acrylic supplier, so I also rank them No. 1. And then Tropar is my top supplier for plaques, ranked No. 1. However, when all 3 collide within a category, who gets to be Top Dog? What I would love to do is be able to list RB Fab as my No. 1 for acrylics, Tropar No. 1 in plaques, and JDS No. 1 in say trophies. So what I'm asking is, can the ranking be within the award categories rather than on the overall site?

I think this is an excellent idea, but rather than providing the ranking within award categories only, have it as an option. So the proposed solution is to rank suppliers just like today, then have a sub-ranking by category. The Subranking would then further rank the suppliers within the category. For instance. Lets assume the following are your top companies and thus each are equally ranked as a 1:

Company A
Company B
Company C

However within your acrylic Awards, you want to further sub-rank so that Company B appears Rank 1, then Company A as Rank 2 and then Company C as Rank 3. Thus in essence, the supplier is first ranked, then further clarified in rankings with a category.

If no sub-rankings are defined within a sub-category, then it will sort as it does today which is alphabetical by product name after supplier rank.

How does this sound?
