I know we went over the building of Kits and I may be missing something. The issue I have is that my finished product requires a price and the kit components require prices as well. Why or how is the price of the finished product a calculation built on the component prices?
Example:
KC Plaque: $35.00
KC LaserE: $20.00
FP Lasered Plaque: $(KC Plaque $ + KC LaserE $)

The price of the product that has kits components is static - i.e. the base unit price. It is the price of the product as built by default.
then each component has a price ***ociated with it. When you created the kit components on the product you would have told BizWizard to either charge the difference in one of three ways:
Upcharge only
Upcharge and Downcharge
No change in pricing
so to answer your question, how it does pricing is based upon how you set it up.

I set up the kit components, and the components have value. I set up the finished product and no matter what value I attach to it when I add the item to an order the price is taken from the base price of the finished product and not the comppnent products. However, if I modify the kit components in the work order to something other than what I originally set up then it will adjust the price accordingly. Why can't it do it originally and not in modifying only?

I have used the price adjustment and it has no effect! The effect only comes into play when I modify the kit going from the work order! Is this a bug?

This is not a bug. All pricing starts with the Base Unit Price. The Kit for that product has a Default Option. The default option is considered to be built into the base price of the product. Then other options that may be chosen in the pull-down list will adjust the pricing up or down or not at all depending upon the option you chose when you added the kit grouping to the product.
What I believe you want to have happen is have a product with a base unit price of $0.00 and then have the final price created based upon the options chosen. You can do this by doing the following:
A) Set the Base unit Price of the Product that has the kits to $0.00
B) Ensure each kit has an option of "Please Choose One" which also has a price of $0.00
C) When you add the kit grouping to the product, set the Default Kit Product to "Please Choose One" and Set the Price Adjustment Option to "Adjust Price Up Only"
This will cause Order Manager to price the product 100% based upon the options selected.
